This was a fruit tree...that just didn't want to make fruit anymore. I rescued this section from my property last spring. The wood is dense creating a nice textural dichotomy between the live edge and sanded surface. I like to clear coat the wood because it raises the grain and really brings out the deep tones of the spalting.
