It’s no secret in the AikenKraft shop that nature is the best woodworker.
We let nature do what it does best.
Our job is to simply highlight what nature can do and bring out the natural beauty in the wood.
This spalted maple log was found on the forest floor near our shop and rescued from being devoured.
We removed any loose material and sanded all surfaces before clear coating with water-based polyurethane.
The glass top is hand shaped to match the contours of the log.
